J.C. Anderson is pleased to announce that the firm has completed an amenity build out at 225 W. Washington in Chicago.  Agave Holdings LLC, marking its growth with a second downtown Chicago building acquisition, aimed to revitalize the office high-rise at 225 W. Washington. This 1987 landmark lacked modern amenities, crucial for drawing tenants and enhancing market appeal. Together with J.C. Anderson, they embarked on creating a space that marries high-end form with functionality.

The project featured shimmer screen ceilings, a chic bar, lounge, and gaming area, plus a monumental stairway to a conference overlook. A lower-level golf simulator and lobby modernization with sleek reception and lighting elements further distinguished the space. Designed for the building’s tenants, these enhancements offer a blend of leisure, meeting, and entertainment options previously unavailable, elevating the daily experience of work and collaboration.

“Our continued partnership with CBRE, Agave and Wright Heerema was very important to us,” said J.C. Anderson CEO Joe Maguire. “We recently completed 303 W. Madison amenities with the same team and we wanted to knock another project out of the park for them. There were many specialty pieces incorporated into this design which required the highest level of communication and attention to detail. Sequencing and installation was a huge success and we hope this space attracts and retains many tenants for Agave for years to come. I couldn’t be prouder of the teamwork on this project.”

The project’s complexity, from integrating the largest shimmer screen installation to finalizing the design of a notable stairway, emphasized the importance of teamwork and ingenuity. It was the meticulous coordination with specialty vendors and a collective focus on quality that guided the successful realization of these ambitious elements. This approach met Agave Holdings’ vision on schedule, enhanced the building’s attractiveness to tenants, and made a significant contribution to the revitalization efforts of Chicago’s downtown business district.

The construction team for J.C. Anderson was led by Maguire, Senior Project Managers Larry Regovic and Brian Vogt, Assistant Project Manager Desiree Kupchek and Superintendent Ryan Kingsmill. CBRE provided project management services and Wright Heerema provided architectural services.
