When Eurofins Environment Testing US set out to create a flagship environmental testing laboratory in Tinley Park, Illinois, they entrusted J.C. Anderson to bring their vision into reality. The project would become more than just a build—it would become a testament to how a technically demanding laboratory environment can also support human comfort, collaboration, and innovation.
Eurofins Environment Testing’s new facility, part of their U.S. presence, is equipped with advanced analytical systems designed to process environmental samples with speed and accuracy. From the beginning, our commitment was to simultaneously uphold rigorous scientific performance requirements and cultivate a workplace that employees want to step into every morning.
From our perspective, the challenge lay in marrying two often competing demands: the uncompromising tolerances of lab infrastructure and the softer demands of user experience. We worked hand in glove with Eurofins Environment Testing US and the design team so that neither performance nor aesthetics would be sacrificed.
Construction proceeded under tight scheduling constraints, because Eurofins Environment Testing was committed to meeting its service goals for clients across the Chicago region. J.C. Anderson phased portions of work to allow early access to critical lab systems, carefully sequenced finishes, and maintained close communication among all stakeholders to keep disruptions minimal. As structural, mechanical, and finish trades progressed, we maintained rigorous quality controls to ensure that each lab condition—temp control, humidity, clean zones, and air handling—met design intent.
Today, the Tinley Park facility stands as a living example of what’s possible when client, architect, and contractor unite behind shared goals. The lab doesn’t just serve as a scientific workhorse—it offers an environment where scientists, support staff, and leadership can move freely through spaces intended to inspire creativity, connection, and purpose.
“For us, delivering Eurofins Environment Testing US’s new laboratory was more than a construction contract—it was a partnership in shaping a space where mission and people coexist,” said John Angelovich, J.C. Anderson President. “Seeing the lab come alive and start serving environmental testing needs across the region gives us pride in the flawless coordination, discipline, and integrity brought into every corner of the project.”
The construction team for J.C. Anderson was led by President John Angelovich, Project Executive Jon Zawiski, Project Manager Desiree Kupchek and Superintendents Darrel Panfil and Mike Hillyard. Architectural Services were led by Partners by Design.
