J.C. Anderson is proud to announce the successful completion of the GSA Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Region III office, located at 2056 Westings Avenue, Suites 375 and 400, in Naperville, Illinois. The 40,000 SF office buildout delivered a highly secure, flexible workspace designed to meet the stringent requirements of both the NRC and the General Services Administration (GSA).

Designed by IDG in partnership with Kent Engineering, the project involved the buildout of a multi-tenant floor to support NRC Region III operations. The space balances secure functionality with collaboration, providing huddle rooms, breakout spaces, small, mid-size, and large conference rooms, and two fully equipped breakrooms. A large all-hands meeting room with demountable wall systems allows the NRC team to reconfigure the space as operational needs evolve.

Specialized areas throughout the office include an Incident Response Center (IRC) room, a drug-testing restroom, a dedicated mail room, and custom employee lockers. The layout also features designated zones for specific NRC divisions, along with a large open collaboration area designed to support teamwork and staff engagement. Security was a critical component of the project scope. Custom NRC graphics, signage, and exterior planters were incorporated to reinforce branding and create a professional, welcoming environment.

“Delivering this project required close coordination and clear communication among the architect, engineers, GSA representatives, NRC stakeholders, and the building team,” said Brian Vogt, Project Executive at J.C. Anderson. “Our team remained focused on maintaining the design intent while meeting rigorous security and regulatory requirements, all while keeping the project on schedule.”

Completed under a fast-track delivery approach with strict regulatory oversight, the NRC Region III office now provides a secure, adaptable workplace that supports the agency’s mission while fostering collaboration and operational efficiency.

J.C. Anderson’s team was led by Project Executive Brian Vogt, Assistant Project Manager Fernando Chavez and Superintendent Pat Piersanti. CBRE served as owner, property manager, and project manager for the project. IDG provided architectural services.
