J.C. Anderson, Inc. is pleased to announce the firm has completed mHUB, a new hub for upstart manufacturers born out of World Business Chicago and funded by private corporations and industries. Catalyze Chicago worked closely with mHub to develop the upstart concept and create the new space.

J.C. Anderson, Inc. was selected to complete the interior build-out for mHub within Motorola Mobility’s former River West space at 965 W. Chicago Avenue in Chicago. The organization relocated from an 8,000 square foot space in the West Loop last month. The new space features a mixture of open workspace, private co-working areas, private offices, and an event room. It also features 12,000 square feet of machine shops and prototyping labs, including separate wood, plastics and metal shops,  a welding/grinding room, a CNC workshop, an electronics lab, laser lab, 3D printing lab and a wet lab. MHub was designed to accommodate everything an upstart maker needs to create and develop a prototype.

The construction team for J.C. Anderson, Inc. was led by Project Executive John Angelovich, Project Manager Jason Hawkins and Superintendent Dave Bafia. Partners by Design provided the architectural services, Environmental Systems Design was the project engineer and JLL was the project manager for ownership. A high-profile project for the City of Chicago, mHub won the Special Achievement Award at the Greater Chicago Food Depository Commercial Real Estate Awards.
