CHICAGO, IL – Jim Schumacher, Chairman of Elmhurst-based J.C. Anderson, Inc. is pleased to announce that the firm has opened a downtown Chicago office location at 120 S. LaSalle in Chicago’s Loop.
First established in Chicago in 1879, John Christopher Anderson began the interior contracting company in the wake of the Great Chicago Fire. J.C. Anderson remained in the City for over 100 years, until 1986 when leadership relocated the firm to Elmhurst which served as a more central location for the Metro area and also offered easier access to the rapidly expanding suburban market. Now, nearly 25 years later and as part of an overall strategic growth plan, J.C. Anderson will open a second location in downtown Chicago. The firm’s headquarters will remain at the Elmhurst location.
“This was the next logical step in our plans for market expansion,” said Schumacher. “We’re downtown guys. We always have been, and we’re excited to reestablish a physical presence in the City. Since 1879 J.C. Anderson has performed work in more downtown Chicago buildings than any competitor.”
The new Chicago location comes on the heels of the firm’s strategic hiring of Michael Yazbec, now Executive Vice President. Yazbec, formerly managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Midwest Construction Services, joined J.C. Anderson in August of this year and is leading the firm’s new business development strategy.
“Opening a downtown office provides our team better access to, and a more constant presence among, downtown brokers, owners and interior design firms,” said Yazbec. “We have a great opportunity to expand our market presence and now, more than ever, is the time to be aggressive about expansion. The market is going to regain momentum within the next few years, and when it does, we’ll be ready.”
